Last year we visited Yokota Air Base and Atsugi Base, and this year we're heading to Camp Zama for the first time!
Camp Zama is normally closed to the public, but during the annual Sakura Festival the base opens its gates for a special Japan–U.S. friendship event. It's known for having a smaller and more relaxed atmosphere compared to some of the larger U.S. military base festivals, making it a great place to enjoy the day at a comfortable pace.
We'll explore the base, enjoy American-style food and international food booths, take photos, and experience the unique atmosphere of a U.S. military installation in Japan.
And on a personal note: I've heard that Camp Zama still has a POPEYES Chicken location, which disappeared from Atsugi Base. Hopefully this will finally be my chance to try it! 🍗
We'll stay for the evening ceremony and fireworks show, so it should be a fun and memorable night.

## Entry Gate
We will enter through Gate 4, which is approximately a 10-minute walk from Sobudaimae Station.
Please note that there is no parking or bicycle parking available.

昨年は横田基地、厚木基地と参加しましたが、今年は初めての「座間基地」に行ってみます！
普段は立ち入ることのできない米軍基地「座間」が一般開放され、日本とアメリカの交流イベントとして開催される祭りです。
横田基地や厚木基地に比べると規模は小さめですが、その分ゆったりとした雰囲気で楽しめるとの評判。基地内には国際色豊かなフードブースや音楽ライブが並び、アメリカの雰囲気を味わいながら散策できます。
そして個人的な注目ポイントは、厚木基地から姿を消してしまった「POPEYES」のチキンが座間にはあるという噂！
今回こそ食べられることを期待しています🍗
写真撮影をしたり、屋台グルメを楽しんだりしながら、夜の花火まで一緒に楽しみましょう！
